All Delegate Agencies/Partners staff responsible for the fiscal / system operations for your CYS funded program should attend the conference. We encourage executive directors, fiscal staff, administrative staff, program staff, board members, policy council members, funding source staff; grant writers, and your independent Auditor / CPA to attend.
What is the check-in process?
Please bring your registration confirmation that you received via email from CYS to the check-in. Prior to attending any sessions, you should pickup your conference packet at Children and Youth Services Conference Registration Desk in front of the “Great Hall” located in the “U” building 1st floor.
General check-in is Monday, March 17, 2008, from 7:30 am – 8:00 am. All agencies are required to attend.
Will there be food offered?
Yes. There will be breakfast; lunch and snacks offered every day.
Do I need to prepare or bring anything?
Come to this conference prepared to learn and have fun! Bring your registration confirmation that you received via email from CYS for fast check-in. All conference materials will be provided, including a portfolio to carry your conference material and ID.
What should I wear?
Dress comfortably! Business casual.
What materials/handouts do we receive?
At registration you will receive a portfolio to insert the materials you receive from each training session you attend. Your session materials will be handed to you when you arrive at each session. For your convenience, there are tabs in your portfolio reflecting each time slot so that you can put your materials behind the appropriate time. In addition, you will have access to all training materials by downloading them after the conference at http://cys.mycopa.comstarting April 1, 2008 thru the end of the year.
How can I get all the sessions I want with the limited time we have at the conference?
We recommend bringing your management team which will allow your agency to get exposure to more sessions. In addition, you will have access to all training materials by downloading them after the conference starting at April 1, 2008 thru the end of the year at http://cys.mycopa.com/
Will I get a certificate to verify my participation?
Yes! An official certificate of participation will be sent approximately 5-10 weeks after the conference to those participants who turn in their course surveys.
Will there be time to ask questions in addition to my session?
Of Course! CYS staff and trainers will be available to answer your questions throughout the conference. Many trainers will be available for brief one on one consultations. Contact any CYS personnel and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Can I record this training seminar on tape or video?
No. To protect the confidentiality of all participant questions and comments, and to promote open discussion, we do not allow our training seminars to be recorded.
Can I check my work email while at the conference?
Yes. There will be a computer stations where you will be able to review your emails.
Will I have access to a pay phone?
No. The U-Building where the conference is being held has no pay phones.
Am I required to attend the registration on the first if I have no classes on that day?
Yes. Day 1 registration and the opening session are mandatory. There should be at least one person from every agency attending these sessions on the first day.
Will there be free parking?
Yes. KennedyKingCollege will be on spring break. Therefore, we will have access all parking lots on the campus.Remember the conference is located in the U-Building.
Will there be special accommodation for the disabled?
Yes. KennedyKingCollege maintains facilities for the disabled.
What are mandatory courses?
These are Courses that are specific to funding and require at least one person from the organization to attend (i.e. all agencies receiving WIA funding will have to attend the at least one of the WIA workshops).
I see lunch is at noon, if I take a course that ends after noon, will I receive free lunch?
Yes. All morning workshops will end by 12:30 PM. This will give you at least a half hour for lunch.
